Next year's conference will be hosted by University of Arizona, Tuscon
on October 16-17, 1998 (Fri/Sat). The conference organizer is
Julie Luft.
Purpose:
- To update the Arizona mathematics/science/engineering education
community about science/mathematics education innovations and reforms.
- To encourage collaboration and networking among
science/mathematics/engineering educators in the state's universities,
community colleges and school districts across all grade levels, K-16.
- To promote effective K-16 science/mathematics learning informed by
results of science/mathematics education research.
Participants:
Mathematics, science, engineering or science/math education
teacher/faculty in Arizona K-12 schools, community colleges and
universities. Any educator or education administrator interested in
improving the science and mathematics learning of Arizona's students.

successes with interested educators.
1997 Conference Abstracts
The Organizing Committee wishes to thank the invited speakers,
panelists and all partcipants for making the first statewide K-16
Science/Mathematics Education Conference a great success. We are
especially grateful to Casio, the Exploratorium in San Francisco and
the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix for participating and for
donating the door prize gifts. By all reports, participants have
expressed a strong interest in continuing and expanding this conference
in the future.
If you are an Arizona science/mathematics educator who wishes to
participate in future statewide conferences, please take the time to
fill in the post-conference survey, so that the Eisenhower
Science/Math Advisory Council receives your input for future planning.
