Course Objectives:   Inquiry-oriented course which focuses on fundamental physics concepts: force, motion, electricity, magnetism, light, and optics.

Laboratories:   Course is centered around the weekly laboratories which meet in PS H-357 on Tues (8:40 am, 10:40 am, 3:40 pm) and Wed (8:40 am and 10:40 am).

Note:     You must be formally enrolled in a specific PHS 110L Lab Section !

T, Th Classes:   PHS 110 class meetings in PS-F173 at 1:40-2:55 pm T, Th are short mini-lectures with student participation facilitated by Personal Response System (PRS), a wireless electronic feedback system. Each student must purchase a PRS Transmitter, register the device with the course instructor at the beginning of the semester, and bring the Transmitter to all T,Th classes. You will use the Transmitter to take quizzes randomly during the Tuesday and Thursday large class meetings.

Lab Book (REQUIRED):  Flexi Comp Lab Book (5 x 5 Quad ruled, 80 sheets, #774475) (available at the ASU Bookstore)

PRS Transmitter (REQUIRED):   (available at the ASU Bookstore) Approximately $48 with Bookstore buy-back approximately $24 at the end of the semester
