

1. Connect the TI-83 to the CBL with the cable link, and connect a probe to the CBL. Press the program key on the TI-83 to display the programs loaded in your TI-83. Arrow down to PHYSICS as shown, and press enter. You should see the display shown. To start the program press enter again, and you will see the Main Menu.
2. You first need to set up your probes, so the TI-83/CBL knows what probe and which channels on the CBL you are using. After responding to the questions you will see the Main Menu again
3. Select TIME GRAPH for the variables you want plotted, and NON-LIVE DISPLAY which means that your data will be plotted after the data have been collected.
Answer the questions regarding the time between samples, and the number of data points (samples) you wish to collect. Bear in mind that the TI-83 can store up to 200 data points. As shown in the figure, the TI-83 display will summarize your selection, and then you will see a display that would allow you to reset your experiment parameters (MODIFY SETUP). If you are happy with the experiment parameters you have set , then select USE TIME SETUP, and you will be prompted to start collecting data.
