SUMMER WORKSHOP
GEOLOGY
The workshop
targets introductory courses taught in colleges and universities of the
Southwest. Such courses included physical geology, historical geology,
environmental geology, introduction to planetary geology, geology of Arizona,
or any introductory geology courses taught. The focus of this summer's
workshop was guided by participant goals and interests, such as integrating
active learning and inquiry into introductory geology courses. As part of the
workshop, modules/exercises were generated to be used in our courses and to be
shared with others. There were graduate assistants available to assist in
construction/collecting materials, assist in developing the modules, and migrating
the modules to the internet.
The schedule was as follows:
Dates:

May 22-June 1: Work at ASU or your home institutions on modules
June 2-4(W-F): Meetings at ASU to demonstrate modules/exercises and finish write-ups. We will start at 9:30AM on Wednesday, but 9am on Thursday and Friday.
